What is whiskey? The most basic definition is: liquor distilled from wort. Wort is a sweet liquid drained from corn, rye or barley mash. What is a Prichard’s whiskey? What is Tennessee Whiskey? It is a taste of American History. The Prichard’s have been distilling fine American spirits since the 1800’s. All of our whiskeys are distilled in small batches and stored in small, 15 gallon oak barrels. Some are even “double barreled” and stored in 2 different barrels. They are taken from 120 to 95 proof and re-barreled in our charred oak barrels to reinforce the barrel notes that bourbon is so famous for.
Our Tennessee Whiskey and all our whiskeys are a taste of tradition. It’s distilled with copper pots stills using the techniques Benjamin Prichard used over 200 years ago. Then it’s stored in small, 15 gallon charred white oak barrels. The small barrels have a great surface area to liquid ratio that really instills a bold character and rich flavor in our whiskey. Our family distills, ages and bottles our whiskey at our Tennessee distillery. With our distinct, hand crafted Tennessee flavor, Benjamin Prichard's whiskeys are a welcomed addition to those who appreciate a fine drink.
