Ruby Prichard’s Favorite Holiday Recipes

Being good Methodists, our parents were pretty much teetotalers. That is of course, until the holidays and the wonderful parties they hosted. What fun it was to watch as their guests gathered around the punch bowls sampling Mom’s Ol’ Fashion Eggnog and her wonderful, creamy Boiled Custard. As you can see from her recipes, we kids did not get to sample the eggnog until we were “old enough” but I remember quite well as she stirred in a teaspoon of “flavoring” into my boiled custard. As our family and friends gather for the holidays, fond memories well up inside as we traditionally sample our mother’s favorite recipes. We sure do miss Mom and Pop.
